Phang Nga Bay Rock Climbing Image Gallery

Here are some photos of a wall on the northern end of Koh Yao Noi. These climbing routes are bolted mostly with titanium glue-in bolts.

There is a wide variety of routes on various islands in Phang Nga Bay. The routes in the images below are mostly in the 5A to 5B+ (US 5.8 - 5.9 or Aus 14 - 15) range.

Mark leading a nice 'warm-up' route. This route is perfect for beginners to do some top roping, but it's also a great route for learning how to lead an easy sport route.

Emillie is climbing a 5B route. She is just below a crux move that requires holding onto small pinches and really reaching for one two-finger bucket.

Dave is at the crux part of this climb. It requires finger strength and endurance.

First-time climber John going for a small hand hold. With encouragement and friendly advice, John was able to climb a 5A route on his first day of climbing.

There is a wonderful ledge for belaying. Mark is not below the climber, so that's why he's not wearing the helmet. When climbing or anywhere below a climber, we always wear helmets. Even well-travelled routes sometimes have loose rocks.

Emillie is on one of the nicer routes on this wall.
