Our
Phuket Canoe Day trip takes you on a journey to the
breathtaking sites of Phang Nga Bay. Phang Nga bay boasts
a fascinating relationship between land and sea. Consisting
of over 40 small and large islands, mostly uninhabited,
Phang Nga bay rests in the spectacular emerald green
waters of the Andaman Sea. The beauty of this destination,
though, is not the best kept secret and thus it does
see hordes of tourists visiting all year round.
Fortunately,
PaddleAsia specializes in taking you away from
other tourist destinations. We enjoy providing
our guests with unique adventure experiences, where
you can become a part of your surroundings and feel
that soothing distance from civilization. So while everyone
else goes to the NW corner of the bay or the southern
regions your tour will go to the NE corner... just as
beautiful, just as much to offer and many paddling options.
After
being dropped off at the pier, the Thai longtail ferry
boat will be waiting to take you out into the depths
of Phang Nga bay. Once on Ko Yao Noi, you will be met
by our traditional Thai long tail boat that is equipped
with your canoes and will escort you from island to
island.
The
itinerary for the trip is very relaxed but
definitely ensures you experience the truly spectacular
features of this remarkable destination. The towering
cliffs that rise vast distances into the sky, the vegetation
of the bay that overcomes any obstacle, the colorful
schools of fish who swim along side your canoe, the
enigmatic wildlife including potential sightings of
the Brahminy Kites (raptors), White-bellied Sea Eagles,
Long-tail Macaques (monkeys), Brown-winged Kingfishers,
Collared Kingfishers and Water Monitor Lizards, mangrove
channels and the peaceful secluded beaches are all part
of the Phuket Canoe Day Trip experience. Not to mention
the hongs…
Only
recently has the world been blessed by the discovery
of the hongs of Phang Nga bay. Lying behind the outer
wall of many of the islands is a hollow interior. Some
are dark and enigmatic with barnacle clad stalactites
lapped by the changing tides. Other caverns open into
spectacular sky lit conservatories in which miniature
tropical gardens are maintained by a random assortment
of animals. Paddling through a cave entrance into this
whole different world is an experience like no other.
This is how the Phuket Canoe Day Trip paddle starts.
We then take you around to other islands such as Ko
Roi, Ko Kudu Noi, Ko Kudu Yai and Ko Batang where you
guide will show some of the bays many wonders. Click

of Phang Nga Bay.
And
how could have a perfect trip without perfect
food? For lunch we stop on a small secluded
tropical beach for a picnic of traditional home-cooked
Thai cuisine!

Guest Feedback:
“The Phuket Canoe Day trip was
a great adventure. It was both spectacular and pure
relaxation. I don’t know how they’ve managed
to combine the two…but they have. It was a delight
to feel myself getting further and further away from
the hustle and bustle of the world as I entered the
tranquility of Phang Nga bay. I had read a bit about
the Phang Nga province, which is what attracted me to
the trip, but nothing in a book or on a computer can
compare to what you need to see in real life. Being
completely domineered by the giant rock formations of
the bay is a very different feeling (especially when
you learn that the formations are partially made up
of the bones of sea creatures over millions of years!).
The first paddle into the hong was one of the best parts
of the trip for me. It truly feels like you have warped
into a completely different world – the water
becomes calm and seems to change color, suddenly there
are rich tropical trees growing out of the water and
the sounds of many different animals that guard this
world echo within the cavern. The rest of the trip was
brilliant – paddling to more sights, swimming,
exploring, resting and eating great food. It was also
a great way to meet people and share some great laughs
and photos together along with the beautiful sunset
in the way home. All in all, Paddleasia shows you a
world that can’t be shown any other way. I highly
recommend this day trip!”
